An exciting and challenging position is available for a dynamic and self-driven team member. Within the Information function an APS5 Information and Records Management Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex Information and Records Management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
A key part of this role it to manage, provide advice and support our Objective file structure within Headquarters Army Logistics Training Centre and our Training Establishments stakeholders and work group co-ordinators; including auditing access within our role-based security model in accordance with Army and Australian Defence Organisation Enterprise Records Management business processes, policies and procedures. You will also manage the disposal, retention and destruction of corporate physical / digital files and Records in accordance with legislative requirements.

Be part of a cohesive headquarters team that supports each other to provide capability to ALTC. The team consists of ADF and APS members, and is based at Gaza Ridge Barracks (South), Bandiana, Victoria.
As the Information and Records Officer your support is critical to the modernisation of all facets of Information and Records Management within a large and diverse organisation. A critical role of the position is to educate, promote and manage Information and Records Management across the Formation.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Is a highly experienced and has a strong background in Information and Records Management.
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Records Management System (Objective) or similar information or Records Management systems.
- Strong knowledge of archival, disposal and storage practices for physical and digital corporate records and files, preferably of the National Archives of Australia and Defence Administrative Functions Disposal Authority.
- Strong SharePoint / web-design and development skills.
- Thinks strategically, has the ability to harness Information and opportunities, shows excellent judgement, intelligence and common sense.
- Achieves results by identifying the appropriate use of resources; applies and builds professional expertise, and responds positively to change while accepting responsibility for managing work projects.
