Within the Business Analysis function, a Business Intelligence Officer is accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. The Business Intelligence Officer will play a key role in supporting the Land Combat College’s Training Activities, Resource Planning and the ongoing management of resources across the Headquarters and Training Units. The Business Intelligence Officer will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. The Business Intelligence Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex Business Intelligence work within an integrated workforce.This position also provides technical oversight and mentoring of the Business Intelligence Officers within the Land Combat College’s seven geographically dispersed units. Situated within Patterson Hall, Duntroon Garrison, Canberra, the Formation Business Intelligence Officer will operate within a close-knit team, directly supporting Land Combat College’s functions.About our Team
The role of Land Combat College is to be the conduit between our higher headquarters (Headquarters Forces Command) and our seven subordinate Training Establishments. Land Combat College and its subordinate units are the Army’s foundational institutions responsible for enabling, supporting and orientating the ab-initio soldier enlistment, officer commissioning program, individual initial employment and specialist training and career development courses. The Headquarters Land Combat College team is a small but motivated and experienced cohort, comprising APS and uniformed members. The climate within the team espouses an adult workplace environment and a respectful open discourse between its members.Beyond the broader Defence Values, the team places large emphasis on trust, effective communications, teamwork, innovation, flexibility, initiative and ownership. As the Business Intelligence Officer, you will be working within the Operations Cell of Headquarters Land Combat College. The Operations Cell consists of primarily ADF members of various ranks. The Business Intelligence Officer will coordinate and contribute to the work of the team consistent to a work plan. They will also provide advice and assistance on tasks and methods of completion to team members across the Training Establishments who report to Land Combat College.Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work with autonomy and limited supervision and able to work effectively in a small, collaborative team environment. They will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders internally and externally, at all levels. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must have experience as a Business Intelligence Officer, as they will be required to organise their workflow and make independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will be required to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. Previous experience in Australian Government resource management or financing is required.
