The Role
The Project Manager will work within the Program Management Office and will support the management and delivery of capability effects of Air and Maritime Division projects in DSTG.
AIRMAR Project Manager is responsible for the following:
- Management of Project schedule, risk, budget, and resources in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Within the PMO (Program Management Office) contribute to continuous improvement activities and implementation of project standards and best practice.
- Stakeholder support to S&T leads Preparing correspondence, briefs, and reports as required including submissions and documents for higher delegate and committee consideration.
- Implementation of PMO Governance and Assurance policy standards and practices; and actively contribute to standard operating procedures and process development.
- Support and develop and prepare required documentation for procurement related contracting and procurement activities.
- Building and sustaining stakeholder engagement, including the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate effectively.
- Analysing, interpreting Project performance against agreed plans, developing, and evaluating strategies to achieve Project outcomes.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable networking with a variety of stakeholders whilst building and sustaining key working relationships.
About our Team
DSTG is the Australian government's lead agency responsible for applying science and technology to safeguard Australia and its national interests. This role is in the Air and Maritime Division. The Air and Maritime division is responsible for delivering innovation and science and technology (S&T) programs to enhance Defence capability in the Air and Maritime domains.
This position is part of the highly motivated Program Management Office that directly supports the Air and Marine Division of Defence Science and Technology group to manage S&T Projects.
Within the Program Management Office, the PMO Team manages all Project Management related activities not limited to Stakeholder support to S&T leads, project scheduling, project status reporting, governance and assurance, knowledge management, process development, support research agreements, contractor engagement, management of PM Contractors, project procurement and financial reporting aspects.
