Multiple opportunities are available for experienced Accountants who enjoy working with Internal Budgets. There is ample room for career growth for those who are dedicated and driven, including regular acting APS6 or EL1 opportunities. The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Monthly management reporting, forecasting and analysis of cost centres and accounts
- Develop and maintain supporting worksheets for Internal Budgets and costings
- Assist to coordinate budget process and budget documentation
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to understand their business areas and key programmes so that you can assist with accurate costings, budgeting and forecasts underpinned by supported assumptions
- Assist in the Department’s monthly financial reporting and analysis processes
- Distinguishing and allocating capital and operational expenses
- Providing strategic financial advice
- Maintain and improve dashboard reporting
- Project and adhoc work as required
You are an experienced accountant with internal budget knowledge and a clear communicator who enjoys collaborating with others to achieve goals. Known for your high attention to detail, you take pride in completing tasks to a high standard and on time. It's probable that you're already consulting for the federal government and are interested in transitioning to the client side, or you have some government work experience and are eager to return to the APS.
Relevant degree qualifications are essential, with a CA/CPA or working towards it being desirable.
An AGSVA Security clearance will be required and so current Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
Salary / Rate
- $85k - $100k + 15.4% Super
- Salary increases up the APS6 banding will also be considered based on business case to attract high performers
- 12 month non-ongoing contract with view to permanency; or
- S26 transfer for existing APS employees
