About the Role:
The Procurement Branch is responsible for partnering with business areas to source goods and services for the Agency through a centralised procurement model. We focus on applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and NDIA Procurement Policy to ensure value for money outcomes.
The Procurement Capability function is responsible for supporting internal team and business area uplift in procurement knowledge and processes in accordance with the NDIA Procurement Framework, policies and legislation.
The EL1 Procurement Capability is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the procurement functions of the NDIA.
The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the procurement functions. The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
The EL1 Procurement Capability is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA’s interests across a range of forums.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leading the Procurement Capability Programme delivery.
- Implementing the recommendations of the procurement training needs analysis report.
- Supporting business engagement on the procurement principles strategy.
- Creating engaging procurement content about processes for Agency-wide consumption.
- Delivering Agency-wide procurement communications and notices.
- Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships with business area engagements and presentations.
- Administering and analysing the Procurement Capability questionnaire.
Skills and Experience
Key skills required for role/s:
- Experience in successfully leading a program of work with a high degree of autonomy.
Desirable skills to have for the roles/s:
- Experience in delivering technical training to a diverse audience.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
