AddressNet Zero Sustainable Procurement Experience
$110ph - $130ph + Super
Location: Canberra
Engagement: $110ph - $130ph + Super for a 12-month contract + 12-month extension
Eligibility: a valid Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) or above security clearance is required. Candidates that do not have an existing NV1 clearance will not be considered.
Your new company
Our client is seeking an experienced Net Zero ICT Procurement Officer. You will ideally have a background in Net Zero or sustainability approaches to ICT procurement and will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering the Net Zero strategy and reporting requirements.
Your new role
In equal measure, the ideal candidate will be able to both coordinate responses from across the Division and consolidate these into a written Net Zero Strategy and associated reporting tools and templates. The Client will place more weight on candidates with strong experience in managing the full ICT procurement lifecycle for hardware, software and services, and a limited background in sustainable procurement, over a Net Zero expert with limited or no ICT procurement experience.
Key Duties
- Participate in Net Zero workshops, communities, and networks both internally and externally.
- Undertake research and provide advice on ICT-related emission reduction options.
- Review and update ICT procurement documentation as it relates to Net Zero.
- Develop and manage the implementation of the division's Net Zero strategy.
- Communicate and collaborate across the division to draft Net Zero reporting for diverse audiences.
- Coordinate, research, and report on current and proposed new Net Zero initiatives.
- Promote Net Zero targets, emission reduction strategies, actions, and progress within the division.
- Support the Commercial Engagement Section (CEN) to undertake ICT procurement processes during surge periods that align with the Net Zero strategy.
- Educate business areas in CEN's ICT procurement processes, including sustainable procurement.
- Support CEN developing a sustainable ICT procurement framework.
- Develop the change management approach and a change management plan in collaboration with sponsors, users, and project teams.
- Create and implement action plans to ensure everything is ready for the change before going live.
- Acquire change management resources and develop their capabilities to deliver the required changes.
- Gather feedback to allow timely improvements to the change management plan and approach. Assess risks and take preventative action.
- Develop and communicate tailored change management plans for senior stakeholder groups. Provide guidance and make suggestions to support change sponsors.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on planning, designing, and implementing sustainability solutions.
- Evaluate and select sustainability methods, tools, and practices to be used in line with agreed policies and standards.
- Identify and recommend improvements to the organisation's approach to sustainability.
What you'll need to succeed
- Have a demonstrated understanding of the breadth of ICT procurements undertaken by large government organisations.
- Possess a strong understanding of sustainable ICT procurement, including for hardware, software, and services.
- Have demonstrated experience undertaking research, consulting across government, and developing and providing advice on ICT-related emission reduction options.
- Have knowledge of legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks, guidelines, and policies and be able to apply those practically.
Highly Desirable
- Demonstrate experience using EDRMS, Visio, and Microsoft 365 suite.
