The Position
The Industry Growth Program was announced as part of the 2023/2024 May budget which is expected to go over four years. The program supports innovative start-ups and high-growth potential small and medium enterprises (SMEs) undertaking commercialisation and growth projects in National Reconstruction Fund (NRF) priority areas.
This position presents an excellent opportunity for a remarkable individual possessing exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written. The ideal candidate should be dedicated to nurturing and overseeing significant relationships with their team and various stakeholders, aimed at fulfilling the department's objectives.
As a Senior Freedom of Information Officer (FOI), your role will involve supporting and assisting the team in managing FOI requests and fulfilling all information-related needs to ensure compliance with the FOI Act. You should possess demonstrated expertise and experience in statutory decision-making, a comprehensive grasp of the FOI Act and its procedures, along with familiarity with administrative law principles.
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Coordinate, manage and respond to FOI requests for information and prepare packages of documents.
• Interpret legislative requirements and use judgement to apply requirements to sensitive information.
• Manage complexities, competing time frames and ensure the line area meets required deadlines.
• Communicate and engage with a variety of stakeholders including Legal, FOI and Executive Teams.
• Maintain records.

Successful candidate attributes:

• Exceptional written communication skills, ability to write and prepare documentation at a high standard
• Understanding and experience in statutory decision making and the FOI Act
• Exceptional attention to detail, great organisation and time management skills.
• MUST be an Australian Citizen
• You will have a current Baseline Security Clearance
