The Insider Threat Specialist co-ordinates and conduct inquiries into suspected Insider Threat activity, review user activity, and analyse anomalous behaviour. This position will also analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of the newly established Insider program.
The Insider Threat Specialists will be responsible for conducting analysis, developing reports, and providing assessments of known threats and vulnerabilities. The analysts will also identify and address critical information gaps. In addition, the specialist will develop presentations on findings and provide information gathered to executive management. The specialist also works with limited supervision managing a small team.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate and engage with stakeholders with the ACIC and across government in relation to the ACIC Insider Threat program.
- Coordinate input from ACIC internal stakeholders to draft and implement ACIC protective security policies/procedures and strategies to ensure appropriate security arrangements are in place to address risks associated with Insider Threats.
- Contribute to Security Risk Assessment (SRAs) with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSFP) and risk management standards.
- Contribute to high quality strategic and operational security advice, briefings and reporting to the Director of Security and ACIC Senior Executive
- Respond to security incidents, analyse and investigate as required and monitor and assess ACIC threat environment.
- Influence the security culture and prepare and contribute to security awareness training.
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders including government departments and law enforcement agencies.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of the Insider Threat Program's operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
- Ability to gather, identify, receive, ingest, examine, integrating data on potential Insider Threat incidents from various sources following established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to review and evaluate program progress status, trends in any functions, and goals and objectives.
- Ability to prepare responses to queries, reports, justifications, and background papers on Insider Threat issues.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and represent the Insider Threat Program in briefings with internal and external senior stakeholders to inform them of the progress of initiatives.
- Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
- Pre-Employment Screening – All candidates must satisfy an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to being offered employment at the ACIC.
- Vaccination Status – To be eligible to work at the ACIC, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
