About the role The APS6 Senior Compliance/ Investigations Officer role is responsible for leading compliance approaches and investigations into disability service providers and/ or workers and their responses to issues of safety, well-being and quality of support services. This role is a leadership role and will be responsible for directing and coordinating a small team. Duties include, but are not limited to: Undertaking work in accordance with various pieces of legislation. Conduct compliance monitoring and investigative activities, designed to disrupt and prevent fraud. Exercise investigation powers and gather evidence to inform the development of briefings recommending administrative and court-based outcomes. Liaise with other government agencies and partners to share information and produce recommendations. Conduct quality assessments on briefings, decisions and use of statutory powers prepared by other staff. Work with providers and workers to educate them on their obligations, and where non-compliance may have occurred, guide them to address those issues and risks. Research and analysis to develop compliance and investigations responses that are risk-based. Prepare complex and/ or sensitive correspondence and documentation. Plan and monitor work processes for a small team, direct and coordinate activities and set performance targets. Conduct interviews, prepare statements and affidavits and collect evidential material. Collaborate with Legal Officers and other advisors on matters.
