Based at Balmoral Depot, as Arboriculture Pruning Team Leader, you will supervise and coordinate work teams including external suppliers to ensure our tree assets comply with Council policies, legislation, and industry best practice. This role is part of our valued Public Space Operations branch whose goals include exceptional service delivery, being customer focused and a commercially driven business that prides itself on keeping Brisbane’s streets and public spaces clean, green and safe for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.​​​​​​​

Role responsibilities will include:

• leading a high performing operational team with limited supervision
• addressing tree issues with customers and provide advice on sustainable solutions
• supervising and co-ordinating work teams and subcontractors 
• resolving day to day operational issues efficiently and escalating as appropriate 
• ensuring the team operates in a compliant manner in line with Council policies, relevant legislation, and industry best practice 
• recording and maintaining accurate information such as job site analysis, time and costing sheets, diary notes and reporting 
• assisting with investigations into Workplace Health and Safety incidents, customer complaints and general insurance inquiries 
• completing relevant documentation and ensuring procedural compliance 
• commitment to driving staff knowledge and on the job training 
• commitment to participate in an on-call duty roster system
• assist in maintaining work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.

To be considered for the position, you will have:

• chainsaw Fall Trees Manually (Advanced) – FPIFGM3213
• possession of a Trade Certificate Level III in Arboriculture
• “MR” class driver licence
• sound verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers in a confident and professional manner
• well-developed planning and organisational skills including the ability to work autonomously manage conflicting demands and prioritise urgent customer requirements in a pressured work environment
• an understanding of Heavy Vehicle Law Awareness (previously known as TORUM).
