About the Opportunity:
Ku-ring-gai Council seeks an innovative, highly skilled and passionate Arts and Cultural Coordinator to work with our enthusiastic and friendly team of staff at our Art Centre in Gordon.
Reporting to the Manager Library Services, you will partner with the community and Council to market, manage, build and sustain a strong arts community in Ku-ring-gai. Your day-to-day work will involve the operations of the Art Centre, developing creative and expressive events and programs that meet the community's needs and provide effective leadership, coordination and direction for a dedicated team of staff.

This role may require some after-hours work for events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on, day-to-day administration of Art Centre in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
- Plan, implement and evaluate relevant creative and expressive arts and cultural programs for adults and children, including term courses, vacation activities, workshops and special events.
- Develop events that respond to the diversity of community and commercial demands for a growing population and that reflect the regional context of the LGA
- Establish and maintain relevant network connections
- Prepare grant applications and projects, and oversee implementation as required
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in arts-related field and/or business administration
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in the development of people to build a culture of service and improvement to the benefit of the community
- Excellent communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, organizational, time management and project management skills
- Capacity to identify and develop new products and programs that are financially viable in a competitive environment
The position is identified as a Child-Related position under the Commission of Children and Young People Act 1998, and the successful applicant is required to hold a valid Working With Children Check
