We're searching for an Asset Engineer to join our dynamic Secondary Systems team. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and reliable network by providing technical expertise for our protection and control systems. You will have a basic understanding of engineering design, testing, installation and commissioning as well as data acquisition and monitoring from power quality monitoring devices. Success in this role is characterised by inquisitiveness and the ability to think holistically and creatively in planning and problem solving.
These activities will require:
- A basic understanding of Secondary Systems design and application practices as well as an understanding of asset life cycle management principles
- Developing knowledge of transmission system components, performance and operation
- An awareness of installation, commissioning and testing principles and requirements
- Developing knowledge of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Hazard and Operability assessment (HAZOP), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Awareness of legislated industry requirements (National Electricity Rules, ESCOSA, OTR, AEMO Guidelines)
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or relevant discipline) with a strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
- A basic understanding of Secondary Systems design and application practices
- Minimum 2+ years experience or exposure to an Engineering related role
- A curious mind that gets excited by technical challenges
- Passion for problem solving and thinking holistically
- Current drivers licence (essential)
