Alzheimer's Queensland has firmly positioned itself as a well-established leader in the aged care domain. Our current business encompasses four residential care facilities, five multi-service respite centres, a resource hub, Home Care Packages program, and a registered training organisation, among other initiatives across Queensland and New South Wales.
The Assistant Accountant is integral to managing the daily financial operations of AQ. This key role encompasses processing pay runs, managing client billing for our respite centres, performing bank reconciliations, and various administrative duties.
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for:
General Ledger:
- Assist in end-of-month journals and end-of-year account preparations.
- Assist in the preparation of end-of-month financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasting.
- Prepare end-of-month reports for Suppliers and Customers.
- Review debtors aged trial balance monthly and communicate with managers.
- Checked monthly bank reconciliations.
Administrative:
- Maintain organised accounts filing.
- Ensure daily backups are activated.
- Communicate effectively with respite managers and clients regarding billing.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in Accounting.
- Proven experience in a high-volume Accounts role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and effective time management.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines.
