A local government department are seeking an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis to join their close knit finance team. A great opportunity for career progression!
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records.
Assist with maintenance of Council's managed investment portfolio.
Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial support and analysis.
Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience in accounting or financial management.
Strong proficiency with Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Previous experience within local government.
