AddressZerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Virginia site in South Australia.
As a valuable member of our team, you will play a vital role in the success of our Potato, Carrot and Onion operation. If you are reliable, energetic and have a passion for finance we would love to hear from you.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the CFO you will be working collectively as part of a team working across a range of finance operations.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Support the CFO to ensure the financial and operational performance of the Pye Group is optimised and conforms to all statutory obligations through the production of accurate and timely financial information.
- Preparation of KPI reports for daily and weekly analysis.
- Preparation and lodgment of BAS, payroll tax, workers compensation, income tax and fringe benefit tax for multiple entities.
- Reconciliation of GST accounts for the BAS statement.
- Reconciliation and management of petty cash.
- Reconciling operational output against creditors and farm stewardship data spreadsheet.
- Reconciling bank accounts on a daily basis.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany reconciliations and chart of account maintenance.
- Preparation of end of year cash flows, budgets, reports, forecasts and other ad-hoc requests.
- Preparation and lodgment of all monthly ATO returns including fuel rebates & quarterly produce levies.
- Preparing prepayments journals.
- Maintain accurate records for audit purposes.
- Liaise with the external accountants to provide all information required to prepare year-end financial statements.
Requirements:
• Relevant qualification in Accounting.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Full unrestricted Class C driver’s license.
• Experience with, and understanding of, applicable financial legislative regulations.
• Cultural adaptability and a willingness to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• A willingness to be hands on and participate in a broad range of duties, a strong work ethic is essential.
