About the role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to primarily assist and take direction from the National Manager - Finance and Accounting. This is a fast paced position in a company overseeing multiple entities. We are looking for a loyal, hard working individual whose personality will slot into the dynamics of our Finance Team and who can also hit the ground running. An immediate start is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and reconciling company and fuel cards
- Conducting daily bank reconciliations
- Supporting Month End activities, including reviewing coding, raising accruals and prepayment journals, and aiding in the preparation of Profit and Loss statements
- Reviewing intercompany cost transactions and allocations
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly BAS
- Contributing to Monthly Balance Sheet and General Ledger reconciliations
- Providing assistance in weekly and monthly financial reporting
- Supporting the finance team with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general administrative tasks
About you
- Ideally, possess three years of experience in a finance-related position
- Hold or be pursuing a Bachelor of Accounting degree
- Proficient in Excel with strong attention to detail and time management abilities
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to tasks
- Skilled in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
- Must have full Australian Working Rights
