An exciting opportunity exists for a full time Assistant Accountant to join the Daydream Island Resort team.
Core duties:
- General accounting tasks
- Hotel inventory management
- Communication with head office finance
The general accounting tasks include:
- Assisting in Month End Reconciliations and Processes.
- Maintain filing systems, databases and procedures.
- Assisting in the preparation of the balance sheet and P&L monthly.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and yearly reporting.
- Assisting in ad-hoc project work as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 1-3 years accounting experience
- experience in night auditing & Opera
- Point of sales micros
- experience in accounts receivables
- Fluent Mandarin and English speaker ( preferred - not essential )
- Appropriate tertiary qualification
- CPA/CA qualified
- Experience with Sun systems and advanced knowledge in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Reliable and motivated
This role requires the candidate to commute daily as this is a live off Island but work on Island, Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.30am on the ferry (30 minutes to Daydream Island from the Port of Airlie Beach). Discounted ferry rates for staff are available.
