We’re looking for an Assistant Accountantbased in our Norwest office, working a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 days WFH). This role has exposure to individuals in the finance teams both at head office and the manufacturing sites. Reporting into the Finance Manager – Corporate, the role will be best suited for someone who can perform all-round reporting duties, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and has excellent stakeholder engagement and a high achieving attitude.
The corporate finance team offers working in a dynamic environment, that is fast paced in nature, but offers great variability and an opportunity to develop skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the corporate finance team to provide timely and accurate financial accounting information and analysis, enabling key stakeholders to make business decisions on an informed basis.
- Month End: Assist with the month end close procedures and group reporting
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Assist the Finance Manager with balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset reporting
- Preparation of the monthly GST return, Fringe benefits tax return and ABS surveys
- Payroll reconciliations, State Payroll tax calculations and lodgement of the OSR returns
- Budget: Assist in the Annual Budget and bi-annual forecast processes for SG&A and fixed assets
- Year-End & Audit: Assist with year-end close, interim, and year-end statutory audits, and the preparation of the statutory annual report
- Ad-Hoc: Provide ad-hoc administrative assistance as required by the team.
What you’ll bring to the role?
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, Studying towards a CA/CPA
- 1-2 years’ experience preferably in a corporate finance or public practice role
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong Excel and data collation skills (pivot tables, lookups). BI exposure/ knowledge would be great
- ERP exposure, preferably in an D365 environment (not essential)
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
