Our client is a leading family-owned Australian business, with an established presence across three sectors of the property industry – residential land development, housing construction and retail/commercial development. An opportunity has arisen for a versatile Assistant Company Secretary to assist with the provision of a broad range of company secretarial services relating to boards, committees, risk management and compliance.
Reporting to the Company Secretary, you will play a key role in assisting with the effective management and maintenance of board and committee meetings as well as maintenance of corporate records for a number of entities and wholly owned subsidiaries. Supporting the Group Risk & Assurance Manager, you will also assist with legislative compliance management, updating group policies and maintaining the policy register as well as general risk management support. Your broader focus will also include a wide range of projects to deliver across the organisation as well as reviewing and maintaining business policies.
You will be a passionate Assistant Company Secretary who is degree qualified in Commercial, Business, Law or similar and with highly developed verbal and written communication skills. You will have a proven track record in supporting a company secretarial function and a strong understanding of the Corporations Act as it relates to the company secretarial function and will have or are working toward Corporate Governance qualifications. Mature and thoughtful in outlook, you will bring an inquisitive mind to the role, as well as highly developed organisational skills. An ability to remain calm in a confidential setting as well as using initiative and commercial pragmatism to prioritise responsibilities will be essential.
