This is a new position with a privately owned property development group in Brisbane. The group are involved in a range of mixed-use development projects throughout Queensland, with sites at various stages in the development process, including new schemes, DA submission, DA approval and delivery phase.
To complement the existing team structure, we are ideally looking for a Junior or Assistant Development Manager with some exposure to planning, design and delivery phases of mixed-use developments. Ideally, we’re looking for someone with a degree in urban development, construction, engineering, or project management, combined with min. 2 years relevant industry experience. A background in project or construction delivery would be advantageous. This is a great chance to join a development company where you will gain exposure to all facets of the development process, working alongside the CEO and Director, executing the concept through delivery and completion as operating assets.
The group undertakes a range of development projects and they’re currently involved in large-scale and mixed-use sites throughout QLD. The business has decades of experience and a successful track record of identifying and securing great sites and taking the vision to reality. They are also looking for further opportunities to add value for buyers and investors, whilst enhancing local community outcomes.
Working closely with the CEO and Director, you will provide initial support across various development projects. Whilst getting up to speed, you will assist with the longer-term goal of transitioning into managing the wide array of responsibilities that may include the following:
- Assist in preparing acquisition and development feasibility studies;
- Assist in preparing documentation during planning and approvals;
- Attending meetings and documenting agenda items for follow up;
- Assist in preparing sales, marketing & leasing collateral for various developments;
- Coordinate communication with consultants, Authorities, contractors and suppliers;
- Liaise with Councils, Utilities and other Statutory Authorities to obtain relevant approvals;
- Assist the project team to finalise design and develop construction documentation for tender;
- Assist in the administration of managing main contractors through the construction stage

The position requires someone with exceptional attention to detail, a structured approach to following systems and processes as each project grows, strong follow up skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
This will be a dynamic role where you will be held accountable but also rapidly gain substantial knowledge and industry experience within a dynamic and professional team environment.
