Assistant Director - Communications And Engagement

Exciting opportunity to join the newly established Education and Outreach team within a Federal Government Agency. The team will lead and manage education, outreach and stakeholder engagement activities for the Agency, to help people effectively use their services and provide feedback on how they can improve.

There are two EL1 Assistant Director roles available, and they can be offered either as labour-hire, non-ongoing or as a temp S26 transfer. Our client will consider candidates in any state capital, and some hybrid WFH flexibility can be negotiated. Salary negotiable within the EL1 band, commensurate with experience.

One role will be commencing early March and will run through to May, and the other will be commencing later in March and will run through to end of August, with potential for extension or to apply for permanency.

We are looking for candidates who are strong communicators with experience in communications, events, stakeholder management, education or a like field.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and edit educational and communications content
• Drive strategic initiatives for a visible and contemporary regulator
• Lead a small team working in a new section
• Engage in stakeholder management and events coordination
• Lead a small team of up to three direct reports

These roles will involve working with people from diverse backgrounds, so cultural competency and confidence in engaging with diverse stakeholders will be highly regarded.

Experience working in the public sector will be highly regarded. Australian citizenship and either a baseline clearance or the ability to apply for a baseline clearance essential.
