Details: Are you a communications and content professional with a passion for delivering high-quality digital content and engaging the community?
We are seeking a high-performing content expert to join our Communications and Engagement team. You will play a critical role in delivering strategic and audience-first digital communications to support the Community Services Directorate (CSD) in Canberra.

Eligibility/Other requirements: As the Assistant Director, Content, you will manage the day-to-day delivery of content for digital channels, including websites and social media. Your responsibilities will include producing, scheduling, and evaluating content based on user needs and research insights, ensuring high community awareness and positive engagement. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop high-quality content and manage content governance and editorial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce, schedule, and evaluate digital content tailored to audience needs.
- Develop and implement strategic content for optimal engagement and search engine optimisation.
- Manage content governance, editorial decisions, and production models.
- Optimise content for key communications channels and contribute to broader ACT Government communication efforts.
- Serve as a liaison between social media users and the ACT Government, managing responses and sharing insights.
- Collaborate with designers, content creators, and external service providers to produce engaging digital content.
- Provide advice on emerging digital media opportunities and best practices.
- Support best practice communications, content and engagement response during emergencies.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need: - Expertise and professional experience in communications and media.
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary communications practices, with an audience-first approach informed by research and evaluation.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders and audiences.
- A collaborative and innovative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Relevant tertiary education qualifications in Communications, Marketing, and/or Public Relations are highly desirable.
- Ability to obtain and hold an ACT Government baseline security clearance.
