About the Role
The Assistant Product Manager is responsible for the assigned brand/product category portfolio. They will support the Marketing Manager in the planning, creation and execution of Marketing initiatives for the assigned Brand. Ensuring brand/category P&L targets are met by monitoring costs, margins, pricing and recommending needed changes. This role will assist in the development and implementation of a sound portfolio and communication strategy, manage the commercialization process and assist the Sales Department in monitoring their on go-to-market plans while putting consumers at the heart of the strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the respective product portfolio (existing and new products) under supervision of appointed manager including commercialization, market growth, profitability tracking and go-to-market reporting.
- Support the appointed manager with the implementation of product and pricing strategies in alignment with Local and Regional Marketing.
- Develop reporting data analytics to understand consumer/shopper insights competitive trends and key portfolio benefits to best position our branded products to serve consumers. Provide constant feed back to the Local Sales and Marketing Teams.
- Support go-to-market trade/shopper marketing elements including retailer product assortment, packaging, pricing, and merchandising (in-store and online).
- Support the Marketing Manager in their implementation of Media (PAID Digital and non digital campaigns ) following the communication strategy based on brand objectives.
- Orchestrate the brand’s Social/Digital customer journey from planning to rollout in alignment with Marketing Manager driven campaigns to deliver against KPIs.
- Some experience working in a FMCG environment
- Completed a Marketing Degree or Diploma
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Strong project management experience
- Proven understanding of typography, layout and finished art with an eye for design
- Problem solving and can – do attitude. Team player – willing to step up and help others.
- Strong interpersonal relationship management skills
