About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager with Baseline security clearance to support the Project Manager in the successful delivery of the project for MPI.
 
 
About you

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the management and delivery of Military Platform Integration (MPI) Project level functions in accordance with Government policy and guidelines focused on procurement, scheduling, financial forecasting, risk management, governance and workforce planning.
  • Responsible for the production and delivery of reports, briefings and presentations appropriate for an Executive level audience.
  • Lead engagement with various internal and external project stakeholders in the specific focus areas related to the Assistant Project Manager role.
  • Reports to the Project Manager and provides necessary support to other specialist project staff including the ICT Architecture, Engineering, and Facilities/Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) team leads.
  • Provide support in all project management and governance functions and be able to perform the role of Project Manager should it be required in specific forums, meetings, or periods of surge or absence.
 
Requirements:
  • Lead engagement with the Directorate of Workforce Planning
  • Coordinate the recruitment and on-boarding of resources for the CIOG MPI project team as it grows to meet the ICT integration demands of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) projects as they progress through the acquisition and delivery phases of the CLC
  • Manage and facilitate the procurement requirements of the CIOG MPI project team in accordance with Defence procurement policy, using established internal processes and procedures.
  • Support the financial forecasting outputs required of the project by Defence Finance Group. Working with the project team leads and Project Manager, this requires managing, tracking and reporting on finances, and the development and submission of financial estimates reflecting forecast project requirements twice annually.
  • Lead project team engagement with the CIOG MPI Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) for the submission and review of technical artefacts, and the scheduling and conduct of system reviews undertaken in accordance with System Delivery Management Office (SDMO) Design Management Guide.
  • Lead the engagement with MPI SDMO for all commercial and contractual requirements of the project team.
  • Support the Project Manager utilising Project Central to deliver standard project management functions with particular emphasis on scheduling, risk management and reporting.
  • Provision of additional ad-hoc support to all project team members where it is required to deliver project outcomes.
