A strong work ethic and attention to detail are highly valuable traits we also seek.This is an exceptional opportunity to join our team who will be there to nurture your development as you take another step in the development of your winemaking career.Job Requirements As the Assistant Winemaker with a focus on Cellar Management, you will play a crucial role in the winemaking process, within our Winemaking Team and in all aspects of cellar operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the cellar, maintaining the highest standards of wine quality throughout the production process, and assisting in creating a large array of exceptional wines.Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Winemaking Team in all aspects of winemaking, from grape processing to cellar operations.
- Oversee cellar operations, including vintage operations, fermentation management, barrel work, racking, and blending.
- Manage cellar inventories and ensure accurate record-keeping of all cellar activities.
- Monitor wine quality throughout the winemaking process, conducting sensory evaluations and making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with the production team to develop and implement cellar protocols and procedures.
- Train and supervise cellar staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Assist in the development of new wine products and participate in tasting panels and blending trials.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Potential management of our bottling line production.
- Bachelor's degree in Oenology, Viticulture, Food Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a winery cellar, with a focus on Cellar Management.
- Strong technical knowledge of winemaking processes and cellar operations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality wines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends during peak production periods.
- Forklift certification and experience is preferred.
