About this role
The Associate Director, Strategic Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading and driving recruitment and Talent Acquisition strategies across the NSW Health system. You will drive the development of a Strategic Talent Acquisition strategy, to enable NSW Health to attract talented and committed health professionals in locations and specialities of greatest need.
You’ll also manage the team responsible for the strategic governance of the annual recruitment and selection of approximately 8,000 Junior Medical Officers (JMO), overseeing 100,000 applications per year.
The role also provides advice and guidance on recruitment related issues including visas and immigration, best practice recruitment processes, employer branding and career websites. It works closely with the internal and external colleagues to recommend improvements to the recruitment platform (ROB), and with HealthShare who is responsible for performing centralised recruitment functions.

- Advanced experience in managing the development and implementation of ICT systems, including eliciting and developing business requirements from multiple lay and expert stakeholders.
- Track record in driving a reform agenda in a variety of settings, including policy and technology.
- Advanced consultation and negotiation skills with executive level staff.
- Superior communication skills, including writing advice to Executives, such as Ministers, Chief Executives, chair meetings and represent the Ministry at various fora.
- Ability to provide plain language advice on complex technical issues to non-technical audiences to enable informed business decisions and service level improvements.
- Experience in developing and leading change management programs involving both ICT and policy initiatives.
- Understanding of the legislative basis of recruitment regulation and the industrial framework underpinning the employment of health professionals including JMOs.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
