About the role:
The role is for an integral member of the clinical and management team, providing high-quality radiation oncology nursing and assisting the Site Manager to ensure effective management and the ongoing development of the nursing service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional patient-centred care within a safe and coordinated clinical environment by supporting Nurse Manager and Site Manager in the day to day operations.
- Work collaboratively to provide effective, visible leadership and supervision locally.
- Contribute expert advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice in accordance with current legislation and professional standards and codes of practice.
- Understand daily departmental requirements and forecast activity to facilitate appropriate and effective resource management.
- Provision of patient centred radiation oncology cancer care to our patients and their families, ensuring an empathetic approach to patients needs are met in a timely manner.
- Monitor and treat patients for illness, lymphoedema or other side effects.

Skills & Experience:
- Registered Nurse or Midwife with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Post graduate qualification in oncology and/or leadership and management (highly regarded).
- Relevant post registration clinical experience in radiation oncology nursing (desired but not essential).
- Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills that inspire the trust and confidence required to lead.
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Standards for Clinical Excellence and ACHS Accreditation Standards.
- Evidence of a commitment to patient/customer service, clinical governance and quality improvement.
