Overview
A great leadership opportunity for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our Better Care in the Community team within Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN).
Better Care in the Community is a program enabling better support for people with chronic conditions to reduce the number of potentially avoidable emergency department presentations, hospital admissions, and decrease length of stay in hospital. We have a small team of nurses working across the region supplying both Chronic Disease management but also Rehabilitation Services. Our nurses attend the Acute Wards providing education and support to inpatients with Cardiac, Pulmonary or Diabetes. We continue to provide support to outpatients with chronic disease to via phone contact, face to face education/support assessments and offer an 8 week Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation within local exercise facilities. Our nurses are advocates for healthy lifestyle choices and work closely with allied health professionals to support clients to achieve health goals.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will provide support to the Nurse Unit Managerin the leadership of nurses/midwives in the service. This is achieved by promoting continuity and consistency of care, assisting in the implementation of practice changes and undertaking management responsibilities eg performance management, rostering, recruitment, leave management, etc.
Eligibility
Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a clinical Nurse/Midwife.
Previous experience in supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and experience working in management and leadership roles within a rural/remote community setting essential.

This is a part time vacancy, working 56 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
