Reporting to the State Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Officer provides operational support to the AU Regional Finance Team and manages the day-to-day financial transactions including processing and payment of all vendor invoices, and daily bank reconciliations.
This is a full-time, permanent position based from our AU Regional Head Office in Sydney Olympic Park.
Key Accountabilities:
- Full Accounts Payable function including fortnightly vendor payment runs for the various OSG entities, including issue of remittance advice and supplier statement reconciliations.
- Accurate coding of supplier invoices and workflow routing to Heads of Department for approval using ApprovalMax software.
- Management of the Accounts Payable mailbox and timely response to correspondence with suppliers and organisational stakeholders.
- Responsible for accurate recording and record keeping of financial transactions across Accounts Payable, including invoices, EFT transfers, and direct debits.
- Creating Purchase Orders as and when required, ensuring subsequent bills are appropriately matched and closed.
- Bank and corporate card reconciliations using Xero software and Weel (DiviPay).
- Reporting on Aged Payables, plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable.
- Other general duties and assistance with related projects as directed by the State Financial Controller.
About You:
Experience as a Finance Assistant/Officer or Accounts Payable Officer or similar is essential. You will be a high-performing professional with accounts payable and bookkeeping experience and have a good understanding of Goods and Services Tax (GST). Practical experience working with Xero is also a must.
