Wayne Park (Autohaus Technik) is a family business and Brisbane's largest independent Automotive Mechanical Workshop with a 36yr long history of servicing, maintaining and repairing some of Brisbane's finest vehicles. We also maintain a heavy focus on European service and repair across Audi, BMW, VW, Mercedes & Porsche.
Role
In your role you will be responsible for the operational management of the workshop floor and leading a team of 6 technicians and tyre fitters to perform efficiently consistently whilst upholding the quality of our workmanship. This will involve assignment of jobs to the mechanics that are best suited and being able to quickly adapt allocations when the operation requires it.
You will work closely with the other senior staff providing a key interface to the Workshop Floor and the Front of House team to ensure that there are no surprises and customer facing staff are kept well informed of job statuses.
Through your understanding you will help determine the throughput capacity and work with Management and Service Advisors to ensure the business is always booked to capacity - providing expert advice on the approach to booking jobs with accurate estimations.
Your job will include:
- Overseeing a workshop floor of 6 trained mechanics
- Assigning jobs to the right technicians and changing allocation as required
- Monitoring performance to ensure Technicians are always on track and challenges are identified quickly
- Performing the Quality Check on every vehicle before it is handed over
- Working with the senior staff to maximise efficiency and throughput.
About you
- Prior experience as a Workshop Controller / Foreman or in an Automotive Operations Management role is highly regarded
- You are an excellent problem-solver and pay attention to detail
- You can work confidently as a senior staff member leading and directing mechanics to bring out the best in them
- Attention to detail and an understanding of the requirements of customers with prestige vehicles. European Workshop experience will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills
- Mechanic qualifications with European brands will be highly regarded
- Knowledge and compliance of work health and safety practices
- Australian driver's licence (Required)
