Job description

About Us

There's something special about working for a company like Macquarie Telecom. We're not the biggest in the industry, where you're just a number. We're not tiny enough that you've never heard of us. We're in that sweet spot where we're strong enough to punch above our weight. And we definitely do! Because of this, you have the opportunity to make a difference.

The Role

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Macquarie Telecom, you'll be the driving force behind our data intelligence initiatives, providing analytical and technical support to empower our Sales and Marketing teams. You'll play a crucial role in shaping our business intelligence framework, maintaining data integrity, and delivering actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. This position is based in either Sydney or Melbourne, where you'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and BI developers to drive business success through data-driven solutions.

What you'll do

    • Collaborate with BI suppliers and developers to plan and build our BI framework, ensuring alignment with business needs.
    • Establish controls and processes to maintain the BI framework, leveraging developer resources effectively.
    • Manage and administer Macquarie Telecom's commission plan, including calculations, exceptions, targeting, and reporting.
    • Ensure timely and accurate input into monthly executive and board reports, obtaining relevant sign-offs prior to submission to payroll.
    • Partner with stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements, designing and developing reports and analytical tools.
    • Focus on sales automation activities, delivering relevant information to stakeholders to optimize business outcomes.
    • Provide ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports, offering technical support for existing tools, and identifying and resolving errors in data consistency.
    • Teach BI tools usage across the organization, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Your ideal skills and experience
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or related field.
    • Over two years of experience in business analytics, with demonstrated proficiency in software requirements and test specifications.
    • Proficiency in MS SQL, Power BI, and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript, with the ability to edit stored procedures and views.
    • Advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to derive insights from data.
    • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures, exercising independent judgment in a collaborative team environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor and the ability to build strong partner relationships across functions.
    • Strategic and intellectually curious thinker focused on delivering outcomes through data-driven solutions.

Why Us
    • You'd be joining a company that has the highest Net Promoter Score on the ASX, the World's best customer experience & crowned in 2020 at the World Communications Awards.
    • You'll get to make an impact: Enjoy being part of a driven team with a collaborative culture that values decision-makers and action
    • We Invest in you: Accelerate your career through our learning & development opportunities - think Gallup strengths-based training, defined career pathways & fantastic internal mobility opportunities across the group!
