The Bid Specialist underpins the sustainability and growth of the EML Group through the delivery of high-quality bid responses and vale propositions to support EML's strategic growth objectives. The Bid Specialist is a key role within Strategic Programs Team, supporting our organisational objectives to achieve strategic growth of our core business and diversification into new markets.
The Bid Specialist is responsible for leading bid responses for new business opportunities across the personal injury landscape, encompassing the management of the end-to-end bid process, from preparation to submission. This entails handling various types of bids such as Request for Tender (RFT), Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), Expressions of Interest (EOI), Request for Quotation (RFQ), as well as crafting tailored Value Propositions and Capability Statements. Additionally, they undertake project coordination for bid and value proposition opportunities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality responses. Moreover, they are tasked with coordinating and sourcing market information, while also developing briefs to support strategic growth initiatives.
This will be a permanent, full-time position based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office, with flexibility to work from home 3 days per week once you complete training.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership of the end-to-end bid process, including pre-bid preparation, bid project management, content writing and editing, document production and submission and post-bid activities.
- Ensure all submissions are fully compliant with EML policies, along with response requirements, tailored appropriately to the opportunity and meet bid deadlines.
- Lead and support the development of presentations for new business opportunities.
- Development of bid content and documentation to support, monitor and assess progress.
- Utilise bid management tools to support, monitor and assess progress.
- Work with the Design & Implementation Team and Executive and/or Senior Leadership team to document new service models and approaches in response to emerging opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation. Maintain awareness of industry developments and trends and respond effectively to changes.
- Negotiate terms with internal stakeholders to ensure high quality service and delivery.
- Initiate and facilitate meetings and forums as required to assist with bid outcomes.
- Ensure strategic alignment of objectives and adequacy of controls, systems, processes, and reporting capability to support the organisation's growth and efficiency.
ABOUT YOU
- 3 to 5 years demonstrated experience in roles within workers' compensation or other personal injury insurance lines
- Experience in end to end bid management (preferred) or exposure to bid management
- Working within in in a fast-paced business environment, able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to produce compelling written content, documents, and presentations
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Minimum intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office suite
- Qualification or accreditation in bid/proposal management (e.g. APMP/Shipley) or project management (e.g. PMBOK/Prince2) is desirable.
