The Role:

An opportunity exists for a Bookings Coordinator to join the Transcultural and Language Services (TALS) team at Northern Health. 

The role is an ongoing part-time position three days per week (i.e. Mon/Tue/Wed, 9am to 3:30pm).

Where the successful applicant will primarily work from Craigieburn campus and may also be required to work across the various Northern Health Campuses. 

The TALS Booking Coordinator holds a pivotal position in the effective allocation of interpreting services at Northern Health. Their primary responsibilities include assigning in-house and external resources in line with Northern Health procedures, while also ensuring timely communication of interpreter attendance and diligently following up on interpreting agency bookings.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Advanced communication, organisational, negotiation, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Preferred Call Centre experience
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Sound ability to manage time, set priorities, organise work and negotiate in a busy deadline driven environment
  • Attention to detail, cost consciousness and procedural follow through
  • A willingness to participate in service delivery activities and demonstrate a commitment to continued quality improvement
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team which fosters diversity
  • Valid driver’s licence
