About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to be responsible for the finance and administration function of our FMCG business. Reporting into the Founders, the role will be work closely with, a Finance Clerk, Systems Accountant, and Procurement Manager. The position is hands on, and you will be required to roll your sleeves up, assist and fill those roles as and when required.
You will continuously improve financial controls, manage weekly & monthly financial reporting and daily cash flow. This role requires a strong communicator to liaise with the leadership team as a business partner in a low margin environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day accounting, finance and bookkeeping operations.
- Strict daily cash flow control through accurate forecasting.
- Overseeing inventory and cost accounting with the systems accountant and procurement manager.
- Provide financial reporting and support directly to the founders.
- Managing bank relationships, overseeing banking processes and preparing bank reporting.
- Managing Tax compliance - BAS, FBT, Income Tax.
- Liaise with external accountants and contractors.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
- Overseeing payroll administration including compliance with statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, to ensure seamless integration of administrative, payroll, and bookkeeping processes.
Qualifications/Requirements
- CPA / CA Qualification
- Minimum 5+ years' experience as a senior Bookkeeper
- Proven experience in payroll administration, bookkeeping, and general accounting functions
- Experience in a FMCG business is essential
- Inventory management and product costing management experience is required
- Preferred experience with manufacturing systems such as Fishbowl
- Strong knowledge of Excel as a reporting tool and Xero
- Results driven with strong business knowledge
- A detailed orientated and process driven individual
- Experience with budgeting & forecasting
- You must be able to work autonomously and be hands-on
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and accounting principles
- Current national police clearance
