Job description

We are an electrical contractor currently seeking an Experienced Bookkeeper/administrator all-rounder to join us, IMMEDIATE START.  This role offers the opportunity to work full-time in a dynamic environment where your skills in bookkeeping and administration will contribute to the success of our operations. 

This is a full-time role at 40 hours/week commencing in June. Office hours are flexible but are typically 7:00am to 3:30pm with 30-minute lunch break. 

Responsibilities:

As the bookkeeper your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Daily use of our softwares Simpro and Quickbooks.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, banking, and regular reconciliations. 
  • Process weekly payroll and handle employee expense reimbursements. 
  • Day-to-day creditor and debtor data entry.
  • Prepare financial reports, summaries, and analysis for management review.
  • Filing and maintenance of all records and documentation.
  • Calculation and payment of Payroll Tax, IAS, BAS, and super. 
  • Communicating to customers and suppliers via emails and phone.

As our administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our business runs effectively and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily management of the office and team.
  • Undertake all designated administrative duties (i.e., attending to calls, emails, & requests, processing orders, documentation preparation and filing, invoicing/receipting, data entry, managing services calls, scheduling jobs, ordering supplies, photocopying, filing, etc.)
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers.
  • Daily use of our software system, Simpro. Assist project managers with things such as quoting, purchasing, and receiving goods. 
  • Handle office interactions with employees, clients, & other visitors. 
  • Arrange/schedule appointments/meetings, travel arrangements, vehicle servicing, employee inductions and training.
  • Invoicing and billing service and project jobs. 
  • Manage and file safety and quality documents.
  • Various other tasks that provide administration support to the team.

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper is essential.
  • Familiarity and experience with Quickbooks and Simpro, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Reliable and hard-working.
  • Cooperative and a team-player.
  • Have a systematic approach to office procedures.
  • Administrative or customer service experience preferred: excellent people skills. 
  • Works well in a team, as well as independently. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft.
  • Willingness to constantly learn and update your skills relevant to this position and industry. 
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.
