OPPORTUNITY
This is a brand new position created out of growth, to support the Chief Financial Officer, that has been with the company for more than five years. You would be responsible for tasks such as:
- Operate the accounting package (MYOB),and ensure its accuracy in terms of
transactions posted to correct account and cost centre codes - Process Goods received transactions (container arrivals and warehouse allocation)
and ensure source data is reflected accurately. - Coding and processing of Accounts Payable invoices in MYOB.
- Preparing and posting of month end related journals as directed by the internal
Accountant. - Providing detailed listings of all outstanding Accounts Receivable invoices during the
month end process and escalate any issues that arise to the Accountant - Sending end of month Debtor Statements.
- Provide support to the Accountant during audits including collating of financial
information as requested by the external auditors. - Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reconciliations particularly around
Receivables, Payables. - Assist with other support activities and projects as directed by the internal
Accountant - Process sales invoices generated by the Sales Team, ensuring information is accurate
- Send picking slips to the warehouse
- Arrange freight transport for customer orders

In order to be considered for this role, it's essential you have prior accounting experience in Australia.
You do not need to be CPA recognised, or have prior experience in ALL of the duties above. Comprehensive training and support will be provided to you upon appointment into the role. Ideally, your experience has been gained in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Other key qualities we will be looking out for will include:-
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- At least 1+ years Australian bookkeeping or accounts experience
- Previous experience with MYOB preferred
- Excellent telephone and communication skills
- Proficient at identifying, establishing and implementing office system and procedures
- Demonstrable research skills
- Proficient and accurate typist
- Strong attention to detail and time management
