About the role
Reporting directly to the Accounting and Finance Manager, the Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the business. We are seeking a professional with a minimum of 5 years proven experience in bookkeeping, demonstrating outstanding accuracy and attention to detail. Exceptional organisational skills are essential as you will work to deadlines and manage competing demands. Strong communication skills are also crucial, and prior experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Manage day to day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Record financial transactions and conduct bank reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Generate progress payment invoices and record payments received.
- Maintain detailed records of debtors, monitor and ensure timely collection.
- Calculate, process and issue contract provisional adjustments.
- Document, process, and monitor back charges.
- Assist with monthly general ledger reconciliations and contribute to month-end close processes and lodgements.
- Preparation of financial summaries and analysis to support management reporting.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, financial regulations, and standards.
- Maintain meticulously organised financial records and documentation.
- Provide support for various financial projects and tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Formal bookkeeping qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in MYOB AccountRight, Sage 300 CRE and/or Sage Intacct, and MS Excel.
- A strong commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, along with the drive to be self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Exceptional accuracy and efficient data entry skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, suppliers, and clients.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, and the capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information.
