To meet the needs of our rapidly growing and successful business JASCO is currently looking for a talented and passionate Accountant/Office Manager in our Brisbane, Australia location.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Bookkeeper/Office Manager to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for the accounting and office administration of JASCO’s Brisbane, Australia location.
Responsibilities
· Record financial transactions, handling accounts payable and receivable;
· Produce timely financial statements and analysis;
· Liaise with external accountants with regard to tax and regulatory filings, audits and compliance;
· Prepare and execute banking transactions, bank relationships and financing coordination;
· Research and apply for federal, state, and local funding programs;
· Maintain corporate insurance policies;
· Complete semi-monthly payroll for all Australian based employees;
· Provide administrative support as needed, including but not limited to:
- Oversee general office administration tasks, including managing correspondence, office supplies, and equipment maintenance,
- Act as a point of contact for office-related inquiries,
- Schedule meetings and travel arrangements for staff,
- Process staff travel and expense claims,
- Document preparation,
- Support Human Resources, Health and Safety, Engineering, and Acoustics staff as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
· Experience in understanding payment terms, tax laws, and general accounting processes;
· Working knowledge of Accounting Principles and Accounting Software;
· Experience in processing accounts payable/receivable, sub-ledger and general ledger entries and reconciliations;
· Understanding financial business case and commercial risk management;
· Detailed knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
· Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills;
· Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
· Must be a highly motivated individual, able to learn quickly and work independently;
· Must have a demonstrated ability to work within tight and frequently changing deadlines;
· Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy is mandatory.
Education
· A recognized College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Accounting, or Commerce AND a minimum 3 years’ experience working in similar roles.
