About CASA
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is a government body that regulates aviation safety in Australia.
We license pilots, register aircraft, oversee aviation safety and promote safety awareness. We also make sure that the aviation community and the public use and administer Australian airspace safely.
In July 1995, we were established as an independent statutory authority. We operate within a legislative framework made up of acts, regulations, associated legislative instruments and guidance material.

The Division
The Corporate Service Division contributes to aviation safety by enhancing CASA's capability, capacity and service delivery. We are responsible for:
· human resource functions, including workforce planning
· regulatory and technical training and professional development
· governance oversight and coordination across the organisation
· managing productive working relationships with the Minister’s Office and other government agencies
· information technology services
· business improvement and change management
· portfolio management and service delivery transformation program
The Opportunity
The Branch Manager, People and Capability will report to the Executive Manager, Corporate Services and is responsible for driving a broad cross-section of programs and services that support the needs of the organisation and ensure CASA's people are strongly aligned to a culture of high performance, excellence and integrity. This role is also responsible for ensuring CASA meets all its training obligations as a signatory state to the ICAO Conventions and providing professional development for all CASA staff.
The People and Capability Branch drives the strategic HR direction of CASA. The Branch Manager, People and Capability, collaborates with peers and divisional managers across CASA to ensure that people initiatives and programs are understood, supported and fully implemented.
In guiding the work of the People and Capability Branch, the Branch Manager leads the development and implementation of strategies and programs that are contemporary and fit for purpose to build a high- performing workforce that achieves CASA's objectives in the areas of aviation safety regulation, good governance and public administration.
