The opportunity:
As a newly established close-knit team in a brand new venue, we're eager to welcome someone with a genuine passion for food and a desire to expand their skills. We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated casual Breakfast Cook/All-Rounder to work alongside our Head Chef at our brand new Newstead flagship cafe.
In this role, you'll engage in all aspects of our business' operations, from kitchen to customer service. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with our Head Chef to craft enticing seasonal dishes, as well as preparing a variety of cabinet food and menu items to impeccable standards, conducting daily food preparation and upholding kitchen cleanliness. Additionally, you'll provide ad hoc support to the FOH team during busy periods, ensuring smooth operations under pressure.
This is a casual position, ideally working 25 hours per week across three days (although this can be flexible). Weekend availability will be highly regarded.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a genuine foodie in the café scene - a café cook who will help collaborate and support the smooth running of kitchen and FOH operations. This includes, but is not limited to, acting as the Head Chef's right-hand ally by prepping, cooking, and managing inventory while the chef is away, as well as ensuring high food safety standards. Collaboration is the name of the game! You'll help to maintain a pristine and organised kitchen space, while using your hospitality expertise to contribute to the culinary identity of Toby's Estate. You'll be a team player who excels in fast-paced kitchen environments, demonstrates creativity, and has a genuine passion for crafting high-quality dishes.
To succeed in this role, you'll need minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
