Job Purpose:

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the preparation of budgets and latest estimates.

You will partner with the commercial team to deliver these plans, by providing financial support, analysis and insights, alongside CDT finance. You will leverage analytics and technology to provide innovation and continuous improvement to the budgeting process.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Budget / Latest Estimates Planning

Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Work with Hill’s Finance Director to create the detailed annual planning calendar.
  • Ownership of the CSiP (Colgate/Hills Simplified Planning) - Budgeting and planning tool.
  • Lead the preparation of budgets and latest estimates and work towards delivering these plans with commercial team
  • Prepare Budget/LE Financial Analysis including P&L and Balance sheet, Category & Brand P&L, Margin Analysis, Non-Variable Overhead Analysis and A&P, highlighting key drivers and potential risks.
  • Coordinate with CDT Finance and CDO to complete Volume analysis, Mix Analysis, Sales Growth Analysis, Price Analysis, Trade Spending Analysis for budgets
  • Liaise with the global Hill’s team to coordinate central costs, including central costs and global freight and warehouse costs
  • Explore opportunities to use budget & Planning effective procedures and simplify processes.
  • Work with the Finance Director to prepare budget Exhibits in preparation for the budget/LE reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and ensure accuracy of financial projections. for Budgets, LE’s and Monthly Rolling estimates (MRE)

2.Month End preparation and Reporting

Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights for informed decision-making.

  • Monitor Budget Sales and identify GAP
  • Monitor/Verify accuracy of financial information in the SAP/BI/CBP systems in the responsible areas.
  • Month end activities and Jnls
  • E-Comm Reporting
  • Partner with CDT Finance to understand volume analysis, sales growth analysis, mix analysis and price analysis vs the latest estimate.
  • Category and brand P&L’s and profitability analysis,
  • Support and reporting on NVO’s and advertising analysis of actuals vs budget
  • Work with the Finance director to generate the Hill’s Month End Closing Reporting Package and analysis.

3.Other

  • Partner with the commercial team and marketing counterparts to provide key financial information/business analysis and support them on financial calculations and P&L’s relating to new Product launches, Margin improvement projects, hypothetical P&Ls and strategic plans preparations.
  • Provide analysis and financial information to support the commercial team, in the monthly Commercial meetings in order to make the right decision on business growth strategy and execution
  • Present Category and brand P&L’s at Commercial meetings, where required.
  • Sox and internal control compliance
  • RGM initiative and reporting
  • Assist in ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required.
  • Leveraging systems & technology to provide innovation & continuous improvement to the budgeting process.
  • Working in cross functional business teams to provide improvements to the current systems and processes

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Commercial finance position
  • Proven experience in Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Planning
  • Experience with SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or Chartered Accountants membership
  • Experience in an FMCG organization
  • Proficiency in Google suite
  • Highly motivated, have strong Excel skills, an eye for detail and be an excellent communicator.
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
