Due to an increased demand within our business, SYPAQ is seeking a Business Analyst to work with a Federal Government Department. This role can be based in ACT, NSW or QLD. This is a 6 month contract with a potential extension of 6 months.
The EL1 Senior Business Analyst is accountable under broad direction to perform overly complex work that provides detailed technical and professional business analysis, system analysis, and design changes that align with the vision and strategic direction of the Agency. They will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role working closely with stakeholders across the Agency to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes, technical infrastructure, technical services, strategic roadmap, and in the context in which the Agency operates.
The EL1 Senior Business Analyst will have considerable internal and external stakeholder interaction and will act as the conduit between the business units, internal stakeholders that will include the IT business management, solutions development, and solutions implementation functional teams within the Agency and with relevant stakeholders from the health sector.
Leadership and Accountability
- Provide expertise across a broad range of digital health standards activities potentially relating to the work of different program areas.
- Take responsibility for the achievements of own and team outcomes, monitor progress, and follow through to deliver quality outcomes.
- Recommend strategic directions for area of responsibility and consider wider agency implications when making decisions.
- Consider and effectively manage competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes in line with agency goals and objectives.
- Provide a significant contribution to innovation and business improvement strategies.
- Engage with risk, including the conduct of risk assessment and risk management activities for area of responsibility.
- Accountable for the achievement of own and team outcomes, monitoring progress and following through to ensure the delivery of quality outcomes
Management Diversity and Span
- Accountable to lead the analysis of business needs across a complex portfolio of new and existing standards related initiatives, taking responsibility for:
- setting tasks and priorities.
- managing workflow to understand dependencies and
- seeking and facilitating contributions to business and project requirements through workshops and feedback systems to ensure a consultative and coordinated solution codesign.

- Undertake work activities with an awareness of their possible impact on strategic, political, or operational outcomes for the agency/program.
- Attain and maintain an extensive understanding of the role and responsibilities of the agency, including and understanding of the APS operating environment more broadly.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes, and facilitate cooperation.
- Promote the agency’s business objectives through key strategic relationships with range of stakeholders
