Business Analyst / Product Owner

• 12 Month Contract + 12 Month Extension
• Minimum Baseline Clearance Required
• Flexible working from home, Canberra City office location

Our Client, a large Federal Government Department is seeking Multiple Business Analysts/ Product Owners to assist with work across the Education Funding System Project. This is a large scale Transformation project that will modernise technology delivering end to end entitlement management for Schools and Higher Education providers.The Project will engage a range of internal and external stakeholders and will require significant change across technology, people, processes and structures.

Key Duties:

• Develop high level requirements for the system build;
• Work with Service Designers and User Experience Designers to ensure the design will meet business and user needs;
• Coordinate user research to validate opportunities and usability;
• Ensure that business stakeholder needs are represented to the IT Solution and Build teams;
• Liaise with the Agency to gain in depth knowledge of current and new technology platforms;
• Liaise with business areas to understand and document detailed requirements for new technology;
• Work as a representative of the product management function for one or more scrum teams.

Essential criteria

Have previous demonstrated experience working as a Product Owner and/or Business Analyst on projects of a similar scale;

• Have demonstrated experience in developing a range of artifacts such as User Journeys, Business Process Models, High Level Requirements, and other conceptual models;
• Have demonstrated experience in assisting IT development teams to break down and prioritise high level outcomes into features and user stories that can be delivered iteratively;
• Experience working with and/or within the Australian Government;
• Experience in external facing customer systems. Experience in Customer Relationship Management systems. Experience in using Azure DevOps on large scale projects.
