Position Overview: We are seeking a Business Analyst to join one of our client’s team in Sydney on an initial 6-month contract with an option to extend for a further 6 months. The successful candidate will have over 5 years of experience in a similar role focussed on enhancing operational efficiency, effectiveness and value creation.
The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in analysing, designing, and optimising business rulesets, datasets, and processes across various servicing and operational domains to drive strategic business outcomes, operational scalability, and long term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with business stakeholders to understand their process related challenges and objectives, identifying opportunities to improve operational proficiency and performance.
Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing business processes, workflows, and datasets, identifying root causes of inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Define complex business rulesets to inform process orchestration, threshold settings, decision criteria, escalation pathways and other operational parameters.
Document current and target state processes, capturing detailed business requirements and creating process and data workflow diagrams.
Collaborate with product owners to identify and prioritise process improvement opportunities, implementing innovative solutions to optimise business operations.
Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure development teams understand end-user requirements and expectations.
Assist in change management activities, including impact analysis and communication plans, to ensure effective adoption of change within business operations.
Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users, providing ongoing support, post-implementation.
Ensure business processes remain agile, dynamically scalable and operationally efficient in an evolving digital transformation program.
Assure business processes and datasets comply with organisational policies, security standards and regulatory compliance mandates.
Consistently apply an automation-first principle focussing on dynamic scalability and sustainability of work practices.
Use platform analytics and process mining tools to continuously monitor and analyse process metrics, trends in process behaviour and consumption patterns to inform optimisation opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in process analysis, business process management, or business consulting roles.
Expert understanding of process analysis and improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Agile, and experience applying these methodologies to drive tangible organisational change.
Proficiency in process modelling techniques and tools, such as Visio, Lucid Chart, Miro, ARIS etc.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyse data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to drive decision-making.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively and engage stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
Proven track record in analysing and optimising business processes and datasets.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
Excellent interpersonal and written skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
