We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team in the dynamic and growing Energy Sector. In this role, you will manage your own portfolio of leads and prospects to generate new business.
You will be speaking to senior executives including company directors, finance directors, procurement managers, facilities managers, and CEOs.
You will be trained in traditional and new energy products, in how the energy industry works and what clients value. You will receive full support from your manager, the Head of Sales, and other members of the leadership team.
The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual who is able to engage on the phone with senior stakeholders. You will truly care about providing clients with the best possible solutions as well as helping to grow our portfolio of clients.
Qualifications & experience
- Background in the Energy Sector (highly desirable but not essential)
- Experience in an B2B Business Development, sales, and or customer service role
- Tenacious – ability to overcome objections, achievement oriented.
- Ability to manage various opportunities in sales pipeline and meet own target.
- Ability to build relationships with clients at senior levels.
- Ability to engage and tailor your conversations to various stakeholders.
- Strong work ethic and approach to time management
- Able to manage multiple tasks/clients enquires accurately and efficiently.
- Great internal and external communication skills
- Professional and approachable phone manner
- Strong team player with excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated, energetic, and articulate
- Proficient Microsoft Office suite and familiar with CRM systems
- Energy market experience is a bonus.
- Liaising with marketing to follow up on marketing campaigns.
- Liaising positively and effectively with other teams in the company
- Attending and contributing to team meetings

- Pipeline management
- Plan and execute on your sales targets.

- Providing exceptional client service
- Prepare winning proposals.
- Efficient and timely client responses to enquiries and issues
- Respond to RFQs and RFPs
