We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our dynamic team.
As the BDM, you will relish the opportunity in introducing high quality business opportunities to BOQ, whilst maintaining market share within your area of representation.
As a BDM, you will be required to source new opportunities internally via the Owner Managed Branch network, coupled with your existing and prospective customers and referral networks , such as accountants, real estate agents, builders, financial planners, and other professionals in the industry.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of the residential and commercial lending market, excellent sales and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of achieving targets. This role requires a self-motivated individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Further, you will also be required to educate, coach and train staff within the Retail Financial Services division, on Business Banking products, policies and procedures to facilitate the identification of potential opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the introduction of quality business to the Bank at an acceptable margin
- Proactively identify and target potential business opportunities to expand the branch’s market presence. This includes developing and executing a strategic Business Development plan to generate leads, nurture prospects, and convert them into clients.
- Develop and implement a calling program to target customers and generate Business Development activities
- Proactively develop and maintain face-to-face relationships with internal and external customers
- Responsible for the processing of commercial lending opportunities from interview to settlement.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that impact the industry.
- Achieve and exceed assigned targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis.
- Ability to facilitate great customer conversations to understand customer goals and needs and provide relevant and timely solutions. This will include the origination of a range of solutions for businesses including, but not limited to, commercial lending, asset finance, merchant facilities and everyday banking solutions
As a commercial astute individual, your proven Business Development experience will be complimented by your solid networks within the banking arena. Naturally, you will thrive in a collaborative team environment, increasing BOQ’s market share, by demonstrating:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or Sales Representative in the banking, mortgage brokerage, commercial property lending or financial services industry.
- Proven experience in managing risk and meeting business compliance and audit obligations
- Sound knowledge of the commercial market and competitor products
Sound knowledge of the Business Banking industry/products- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and target-driven individual with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and time management skills.
