Our service ensures efficient maintenance of working machine parts for clients and their partners, optimising the management of part inventory, and we also supply refurbished and new parts for sale to selected clients. The Position
An exciting position for a Business Development Manager has become available in our Rowville office, to generate and close new business opportunities nationwide, across multiple market segments. You will be part of a tight team who will work closely with you to help you succeed. Technical training and support will be readily available, and you will work within a sales management system applying best practice sales and capture methods. You will research and generate your own opportunities, but also have access to client lead lists as we secure them. Travel interstate will be required from time to time, with a focus on the eastern seaboard. You will close your own straightforward deals, be supported by the team on any bigger deals or tenders, and share a lot of high fives and public recognition for all your successes along the way!
The Suitable Candidate
You will have at least five 5 years experience selling and closing sales in an associated industry. Ideally you will come from any of these backgrounds or similar: IT, POS and Retail Equipment, Medical Equipment, Payments, Ticketing or something we haven't thought of! Your background may well include previously working for a field service organisation that serviced similar clients. You will be hungry, genuinely positive and enthusiastic, and keen to learn about our business. You will have no reservations pushing past gatekeepers and naysayers. And you will have a commercial mind, able to read the behaviours of different individuals as they negotiate. You may be a strong natural networker who builds momentum, or more of a ‘hit and run’ sales professional: we can work with both styles. You will be strongly motivated by financial rewards (our incentive scheme is very generous), and you will be a person of good character who is a 100% team player. Finally, you will have leadership and management ambitions, as we are keenly building succession and depth into our growing team.
Key Duties:
- Identify potential qualified clients via research and networking
- Cold call leads, bypass gatekeepers, set appointments
- Develop strong working relationships and rapport with clients you meet
- Record all engagements in our CRM
- During appointments, discover:
- Client pain points, opportunities, potential solutions
- How we might help them in any bespoke ways
- Who decision makers and lateral stakeholders are
- Who incumbent service provider(s) are
- Client’s commercial readiness for our services
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop client centric solutions
- Provide service excellence in ‘follow up’
- Deliver presentations to clients when required
- Close deals with multiple stakeholders
- Travel interstate from time to time, and adhere to approved Trip Plans and budget
Remuneration
We are offering a strong base salary, supported by a very generous incentive scheme. The package includes a vehicle allowance, company mobile and laptop. Your OTE is in the $120,000 to $180,000 range, depending on performance.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- 5 years successful experience in a similar BDM role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Commercial and deal making acumen
- Leadership aptitude
- Professional presentation
- Strong time and deadline management skills
- Team focus, flexible approach and ability to show initiative
