A role for a Business Development Manager has been made available for a large multinational company with a very competitive presence in Australia.
The role is not for the feint hearted nor the timid. This position requires a professional. Someone seasoned in sales and influencing, someone who can identify opportunities through new and existing accounts, and someone who can carve out a new division within a multinational organization.
The company has been longstanding and has achieved great growth particularly in the last 5 years. They manufacture and distribute a variety of products in a specialized industry which is geared towards the Commercial and Industrial sectors.
The company is professional and has somewhat of a small business culture in that the CEO will speak regularly speak with entry level staff, and there is less red tape than your average multinational.
People who like the culture usually stay for a long period of time. There are many success stories of staff within the organization (even the CEO started from an entry level role).
The role;
There is a whopping $65m in market share in this particular territory.
There are also existing accounts to leverage from within the business which means the commissions will come quickly to someone strategic that can grab the low hanging fruit and simultaneously target long term newer opportunities.
You will be researching the products, customers and potential customers in order to tailor your approach. Also writing / contributing to proposals will be involved.
Overall execution will be your forte! you will be meeting with clients presenting proposals to decision makers and boardrooms.
The role is national so you will be out of the office mostly meeting with relevant people in the states of Victoria and NSW, however there are many opportunities nationally which you will capitalize on.
Essentially the sky is the limit for this opportunity. Potential career progression into senior management will be available for the right candidate.
The requirements for the role are;
- Previous outbound sales experience (phone and face to face)
- Must have proven ability to influence decision makers
- Ability to travel regularly interstate
- Must be able to be a team player (there will often be instances where you will leverage from other Account Managers customers. You will need to operate in a collaborative fashion)
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
- A current drivers license
