The day to day
ALS Geochemistry is seeking an experienced Business Development Officer. This Full-Time role will be based at our Stafford facility.
 
Working with the Business Development team, the Business Development Officer will provide high-quality service to our clients by providing technical solutions to their assay requirements, including method selection advice, complementary technical services, and digital solutions for exploration data management.
 
This person will be a self-starter who can learn the business services from the ground up and actively seek to further their knowledge of the Minerals Analysis Industry.
 
This role would also suit an experienced mining industry professional looking to use their hands-on experience to assist geology-focused clients with data-driven insights for exploration and mining applications.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality relationships with new and existing clients
  • Provision of advice regarding technical solutions available from ALS to assist clients in planning their exploration and mining activities with reliable assay data
  • Development and issuance of quotations and tender submissions for technical and analytical services to current and potential clients of ALS
  • Building a solid network of industry contacts
  • Promoting the ALS brand and range of services to the Mining and Exploration Industry through participation in various industry events, including some that may require regional or interstate travel regularly
The Essentials
  • Bachelor of Science (Chemistry/Geology/Environmental or equivalent)
  • Background in laboratory, geology, or chemistry and related scientific disciplines, ideally with experience in a client-facing role
  • Experience in Minerals laboratories preferred but not essential
  • Experience in addressing client needs in a technical field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus with proven management of client outcomes
  • Professional and proactive attitude
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • A commitment to providing a high level of service to clients, including timely responses
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams
