Our client located in Mulgrave is a highly successful, family-owned food manufacturer, providing a range of specialist, innovative frozen and ambient food products as well as contract manufacturing and food packing. So far they have successfully seized several growth opportunities, including independent retail, specialty grocery stores as well as entering the health food market.
They are now looking for a skilled Business Development Manager in retail to drive growth by managing customer relationships, securing orders, optimizing delivery services, exploring new business avenues and contributing to strategic business decisions
This position is 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 to 12 pm Fridays. Some small amount of unpaid overtime may be required, based on the needs of the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Securing customer orders and ensuring timely processing.
- Strategically planning delivery services through third-party partnerships and internal delivery operations.
- Identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities with our valued existing customers.
- Exploring and pursuing new customer prospects within defined market segments.
- Managing pricing strategies and optimizing profitability for sustainable growth.
- Collaborating as a senior member to support the overall business as needed.
- Contributing strategic insights to enhance our product portfolio, customer engagement strategies and service capabilities.
To be successful for this role you must have the following
- Proven experience and a track record of success in sales, particularly within independent supermarkets would be ideal.
- Exposure to retail food outlets and health food stores is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in computer systems.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in market research and analysis.
